Frequently Asked Questions
What are the different pins on the map?
Hollow-circle pins are people who you are listed as a friend of, but who are not listed as your friend. Solid-circle pins with no border are people who are your friend, but who you are not a friend of. Solid pins with a border are people who are both friend and friend-of. Pink pins are females, blue pins are males, green pins are users who withheld their gender. The square red-black-and-white pin indicates a space where several pins would be clustered too closely. If you rest the mouse over such a pin it will list all those users in the cluster.
My pin is in the wrong place - can I fix it?
Yes, just click "Set My Location" and follow the instructions from there. You will need to unlock your position by confirming, through Livejournal, that you really are the user you claim (to prevent people humorously relocating each other into the sea) - instructions to do this will appear during the process.
Australia is spelled wrong! (statement often spelled wrong)
No, Australia isn't written at all. Australasia is the term used to include Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and others. It's a synonym of Oceania.
Can I have your source code? Will you tell me how to code something like this?
No.
This doesn't work properly on my browser, fix it!
No. It works on specification-compliant browsers, including up-to-date Mozilla-derivatives and Internet Explorer. Update your browser if you want to use the site. Supporting older browsers would require a reduction in effectiveness.
Can you add a feature?
No, I will not add features on request.
Can you add a different checkbox to the personal info list?
No. Adding more values after people are already in the database would leave all the early-adopters with potentially incorrect values. Also, the way the database is arranged doesn't allow for any more to be added.
What's your privacy policy?
The privacy policy can be found here.
Can I contact you about something?
I'd rather you didn't, but if you really must, here:
